Pastor John Gray: Mission Control

Today we bring you a new message from Pastor John Gray, which is titled “Mission Control.” This message is part of the message series “Lift and Launch.” The text for this message is from the book of Matthew 28:16, where we see the great commission.

Pastor Gray tells us that the mission that God has given us is to go and make disciples of all nations. This means that you have to get your hands dirty, talk about uncomfortable things, and be in an uncomfortable situation. You have to be willing to get into an uncomfortable setting where God is not welcome and where you cannot lose your integrity. You are not allowed to change your character to fit the construct. Instead, you have to be the salt and the light.

However, Jesus made it known that the light cannot be hidden. You have to go where there is darkness and let your light shine. The problem with the church is that we are in the church lighting each other up, but we turn off the light as soon as we leave church.

Christians need to turn on their lights in places where people need to see how good God is. Pastor Gray pointed out that the job Jesus gave us was to go to mission control. In every shuttle mission, there is mission control where everyone gets their direction from.

As Christians, our mission is guided by the Holy Spirit. The mission is to make disciples of all nations and to make Jesus famous.

This is a message that you will learn a lot from.
