In today’s sermon, we learn that one of the aspirations we all have as kids is that we are going to make it. Back then, we believe that when we make it that is when we are going to have peace and finally be comfortable.
Pastor tells us that we believed that if we have more that is when we will be content and satisfied. In the world of social media today, race is about likes and approvals. He lets us know that it doesn’t work out that way, in fact, the emptiness keeps increasing. We were designed to pursue our God-given purpose not to spend our lives accumulating likes, follows, and the approval of people. Even one of the greatest men in the Bible, Solomon, was seen lamenting about being unfulfilled.
What do you do when you have more and still have that hunger and emptiness for more? The way out is simple, to surrender to God and know that God alone is enough for us. Stop searching for more and realign your heart to God.
