PASTOR ROBERT MORRIS: BIOGRAPHY, FAMILY, MINISTRY AND NET WORTH

Pastor Robert Morris whose full name is Robert Preston Morris,  was born on the 29th day of July 1961. He is an American and was born in Marshall, Texas to his Mother, Rosalee. The lead pastor and founder of the Gateway Church, a non-denominational mega church in America. 

He was born into a Christian home and got into ministry early. In his teenage years he turned to illicit drugs and sexual promiscuity until he gave his life to Christ at the age of 19. 

EDUCATION

Robert attended two Southern Baptist Colleges, however he never earned a degree. In 2023, he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from East Texas Baptist University (ETBU).

FAMILY

He is married to his beautiful wife, Debbie Morris. They have been married since 1980. The marriage is blessed with three children and 7 grandchildren.  Their Children, James Morris and Elaine Fisher are also serving as pastors at Gateway Church. 

Elaine Fisher is married to Pastor Ehan Fisher, who is also a pastor at Gateway Church. The duo has been married since 2010.

MINISTRY

Gateway Church was founded in 2000 and has Pastor Morris since served as the church’s senior pastor. 

The Church started off in Texas with its first service held on Easter morning, April 23, 2000, at the Hilton Hotel in Grapevine. The service had approximately 180 people in attendance.  In June 2003 the church moved into its first permanent building, which is a 600-seat, 64,000-square-foot (5,900 m2) facility on Southlake Blvd. The current Gateway facility was opened in 2010 and it is a 64-acre (26 ha) property with a 4,000-seat sanctuary.

In 2008, the church began work on a new main campus located along State Highway 114 and the project was a massive one. It included a 4,000-seat sanctuary and started operating on November 13, 2010. 

GATEWAY CHURCH CAMPUSES

In early 2019, the Coffield Unit Ministry began which is the largest prison in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The ministry is  open to minimum security inmates only  but all inmates may obtain church materials. In addition,  the church also ministers at the Estes Unit outside of Venus. The leader of both prison ministries is Stephen Wilson, an ex-offender who earned his masters from Liberty University and has an experience in prison ministry.  Each prison outreach is described as a campus. 

The church now has three independent church plants; Gateway Church Scottsdale (in the Arizona suburb of the same name) and Table Church (located in the Austin suburbs, led by Morris’ oldest son Josh), with a third (Gateway Houston, to be led by Morris’ son-in-law Ethan Fisher).  

The Gateway Church also produces music through its worship branch; Gateway Worship.

GATEWAY TELEVISION MINISTRY

Pastor Robert Morris Ministries, formerly The Blessed Life, airs regularly on both Trinity Broadcasting Network and Daystar Television Network. He is always supportive of  Christians being active in the public arena.  He was a member of President Donald Trump’s Executive Council of Evangelical Leaders which did not go down well with some liberal Christians. 

Pastor Robert Morris is also the chancellor of the King’s University. He is also an author who has written many best sellers.

WHAT HAPPENED TO PASTOR ROBERT MORRIS

In 2018, Pastor Robert Morris had a near-death experience which he said changed his life. Pastor Robert Morris had catastrophic internal bleeding when the CareFlite helicopter came to pick him up one fateful night in April. The senior pastor of Gateway Church would later learn he had two cantaloupe-sized hematomas from two ruptured arteries. He underwent four surgeries and later underwent another one same year to repair a hernia.

He was born on July 29, 1961. He is going to clock 61 on the 29th day of July, 1961.

In 2019, there were unconfirmed reports that Pastor Robert was living in mansion in Colleyville, Texas. It was also rumored that he was living in 4500sq feet house before moving into the mansion.

However, Pastor Robert has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors and has been mum over the issue.
