Talking about his wife on mother’s day, the pastor took to Instagram to write:
“Dear Holly,
Your daughter looks up to you now in all the ways she should. But it will take a lifetime for Abbey, Graham & Elijah to scratch the surface of what a blessing it is to have Holly Furtick as their mom.
The privilege & mystery of parenting is giving our kids their first template of the world. We teach them, in ways we don’t always mean to, how to see God, treat others, & interpret life. But don’t let that scare you. The only downside of your example I can see is that you’re giving our kids a lot to live up to, & I think that’s a good thing. You’re not perfect, you’re better than that, you’re authentic. Relentlessly authentic in a world that churns artificial, confident enough to be modest and bold enough to be seen. Those of us who live with you are subconsciously amazed that you make space in a single day to approve apparel designs, build Graham a cardboard pinball machine for “his” project, lead a Zoom Bible study and cook enough salsa verde cauliflower chicken to have some to take to my mom.
Me, Elijah & Graham may be taller, but the truth is we all look up to you, Holly. Happy Mother’s Day.”
