Priscilla Shirer Honors Father, Tony Evans, on His 75th Birthday
Renowned Christian author and teacher, Priscilla Shirer, has taken to social media to celebrate her father, pastor Tony Evans, on his 75th birthday.
Shirer, took to social media to express her heartfelt wishes and gratitude for her father’s guidance and influence.
In a heartwarming post accompanied by a beautiful photo of Tony Evans with his four children, Shirer wrote, “Daddy… Happy 75th Birthday! We love you, we celebrate you! We honor you! Thank you for EVERYTHING!”
Dr. Tony Evans, a prominent figure in the Christian community, has served as the senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, for over 40 years. He is also a bestselling author, conference speaker, and radio host.
After losing his wife Lois in December 2020, Tony Evans found unwavering support from his children. They rallied around him, providing comfort and strength during his time of grief.
During his 74th birthday service, Evans surprised his congregation by announcing his engagement to Dr. Carla Crummie, a fellow widow who had also experienced the loss of a loved one.
“As I worked through the ups and downs of singlehood, God in His sovereignty has brought someone into my life. This someone has traveled this similar road,” Evans explained.
“As I’ve tried to share the ups and downs of my life with you,” Evans continued. “I wanted to share this and give you the opportunity to meet my new fiancée, Miss Carla Crummie.”
His four children, Chrystal Evans Hurst, Priscilla Shirer, Anthony Evans Jr., and Jonathan Evans stood beside him on stage as he shared the news, demonstrating their unwavering support and love.
In December 2023, Pastor Evans and Dr. Crummie exchanged vows in a private ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Their marriage brought joy and renewed hope to the Evans family and the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship community.
However, in June, Evans made a difficult announcement, revealing his decision to step away from his pastoral duties for a period of restoration “due to sin.”
