Robert Fergusson – No Worries

Robert Fergusson No Worries

The Hillsong Church brings us a new message by Pastor Robert Fergusson which is titled “No Worries”. Pastor Robert reminded us in this message that although we live in troubled times, Christ has assured us that he has overcomed the world for us. The teaching Pastor at Hillsong Church unpacks powerful scriptures from the book of Philippians and explains five ways we can replace our worry with peace that surpasses all understanding.

The phrase “No worries” is an Australian phrase used at times of extreme anxiety. No worries may be exactly the kind of expression we need in these troubled times that worry has been consuming the world. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the statistics has shown that the anxiety level for adults has sky-rocketed. This is totally understandable because people are worried about their jobs, finances, or the fear of losing a loved etc.

The bible in Jeremiah 17:7 tell us that But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. Prophet Jeremiah is saying the man who trusts in God is blessed and is like a tree that has no worries. The question do you think it is possible to live a life free from worries and anxiety?

The bible in Philippians 4:6 gave us some clues when it told us not to be anxious for anything. The effect of this passage of the scripture is that Jesus is telling us, we have a choice when it comes to extraordinarily difficult times. We have a solution which is the peace of God and the opposite of anxiety. How can we access this peace of God in troubled times?

First o all, there are a few things you need to know about anxiety. The first is that anxiety suffocates us. The second is that it inhibits our thinking. Another thing about anxiety is that it limits our grace.

Here are a few ways you can deal with anxiety in troubled times because as we have mentioned above, anxiety is bad for us. The first step is that you need to get into right standing with God. This is the foundation to peace and dealing with anxiety. The second is right relating, just like we were told in Philippians 4:2-3. In this case, you need to fix every broken relationship and forgive where it is necessary. The third antidote to anxiety is right choosing as mentioned in the verse 4. You can choose to be, you must choose to remain happy and that nothing is able to steal your joy. Choose to praise and thank God even when nothing seem to be right.
