He said he understands that he is dropping us in the middle of a narrative that would suggest to us that Jesus is showing his authority to be the messiah. He has started his mission but has not clued anybody in on what he’s doing so he’s working but nobody knows what he’s doing. Jesus is just in the beginning of selecting his disciples and so surrounding him is opposition and criticism.
