Steve Dixon Sermons – Golden Vessels

Steve Dixon Sermons Golden Vessels

The Hillsong Church brings us a new message by Pastor Steve Dixon which is titled “Golden Vessels”.  Today we learn from the kinstugi porters.

We all have had a piece of pottery that had gotten broken by us. It may be a mug or  plate that fell broke down into irreparable pieces. What do you do at that particular point? Do you make an attempt to repair and fix it? Do you just throw it away? Do you replace it?

What happens when it is a human being that is broken? How do you handle it? Most of the times we discard them and we go ahead to choose another and better model.

The Japanese hold a different orientations because they believe in kinstugi. This is where they patch up broken pottery and this time they do it with gold. The aim is not just to fix what is broken but to add value to it.

Here are a few principle from the Kintsugi porter

1. Do not hide the brokenness. Do not hide the scars and the past that we do not want people to know. leave the cracks for people to see the story because the cracks are part of the story.

2. Highlight the cracks. The cracks are real and we spend our time avoiding reality. It is totally ok to face the reality. We have all made mistakes and we need to learn to get over our pasts. Our past is not what defines us.

3. Create something new from the old.

4. Create something beautiful from the brokenness

5. Create something more valuable

The scars that we have are what makes us valuable. To God you are valuable and he has called you the apple of his eye. The love he has for us is unwavering.

This is a message that will uplift your spirit.
