This weekend @stevenfurtick took us through Jesus’ response to the accusations from the teachers, the crowd and even his own family. He talked about how Jesus came not to confront our external actions but our internal voices. Sorry for those of you who like a clip on Mondays, I was just too into the message. I did take notes though! Here’s a few highlights…
-Cynicism comes from too much knowledge and not enough wisdom. The scribes’ scrolls caused them to be judgmental of Jesus.
-Cynicism is counterfeit wisdom.
-The voices that you respond to will come from what you surround yourself with.
-I must learn to talk like where I come from. Let the weak say I am strong. Learn to contradict your circumstance with your confession. The Spirit is INSIDE you.
-Voices become viewpoints. Who are you listening to?
-What you hear gets in your heart. What you scroll gets in your spirit.
-Jesus was not driven by the agenda of others. He was led by the Spirit of God. Begin with AMEN.
