The T D Jakes Foundation, which is dedicated to using financial inclusion to empower people and improve communities, has announced a substantial impact grant donation of $1 million to the Milken Institute.

This latest contribution comes on the heels of a series of impactful grants distributed by the T.D. Jakes Foundation over the past month. In total, the foundation has allocated over $1.7 million to empower various community-based organizations. Their dedication to closing the opportunity gap in underserved communities is evident through these strategic investments.

“Empowering future leaders through financial literacy is paramount to me and the mission of the @TDJ_Foundation,” stated the T.D. Jakes Foundation through a social media post. They consider it crucial to ensure everyone has access to the instruments and resources required for financial success by bridging opportunity gaps in underprivileged areas.

The Milken Institute’s HBCU Fellows Program perfectly aligns with the T.D. Jakes Foundation’s vision. Renowned for providing students with real-world experiences and a deep dive into the intricacies of the financial world, the program empowers the next generation of leaders.

The $1 million grant will serve as a catalyst, providing HBCU students enrolled in the program with the resources they need to thrive. This investment is expected to have a ripple effect, fostering financial empowerment not just for the students themselves, but for the communities they will go on to serve.

This latest contribution adds to a string of impactful grants distributed by the T.D. Jakes Foundation in recent weeks. In February, the organization, in partnership with Wells Fargo, awarded grants to various community-based organizations.

These grants included $250,000 each to the Sola Foundation and The Dec Network, dedicated to tackling specific community challenges. Recognizing the importance of cultural preservation, they also awarded $25,000 each to Greenwood Rising and the Greenwood Cultural Center.

Additionally, they provided a $150,000 grant to Wiley College, further demonstrating their commitment to strengthening historically black colleges and universities.
