It is not only committing the Word to memory – which people do today for the purpose of teaching, preaching – but more importantly it is letting that Word become an integral part of our beings. You cannot become God’s person by studying the history and the theories about the Word of God alone. We are only made spiritual by living in the Word and by the Word living in us. Knowing facts about Jesus does not change our relationship with Him. It is God’s power working through His Word and Spirit that brings about the new birth. As God communicates to us through His Word by His Spirit, He will show us what to do and where He wants us to go”
