Transformation Church Evacuates Church Premises on Christmas Eve Over Bomb Threat: Transformation Church in Tulsa, led by popular pastor Michael Todd, faced a tense Christmas Eve with an evacuation prompted by a potential bomb threat.
The information received from local authorities during one of the church services on December 24, led a swift and orderly evacuation of all attendees and children.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Transformation Church acted immediately, suspended the service and evacuated all attendees and children safely,” a statement released by the church and also Shared on Todd’s Instagram page read.
The statement emphasizes the crucial role of the Bixby and Tulsa police departments, along with local authorities, in facilitating a smooth and secure evacuation.
“At Transformation Church, public safety is a priority for us. Our teams prepare for emergency scenarios which includes training and comprehensive drills. Today after working with Bixby police department, Tulsa police department, and local authorities, we safely and orderly executed our evacuation plan,” the release read.
It additionally reported zero injuries related to the threat and reassured the congregation of their continual security measures to ensure the safety of their worship services.
Expressing their profound gratitude, the church commends its members and community for their “patience, understanding, and support” during the unsettling event. Their cooperation, the statement highlights, “was crucial in ensuring a safe environment for everyone involved.”
Nevertheless, to avail the church staff and volunteers time to rest, Transformation Church informs its congregation that their usual Sunday service on December 31st will be held online. The next in-person service will resume on January 7th, 2024.
