Traveling Tennessee Pastor Arrested For Alleged Child Rape
Traveling Tennessee Pastor Arrested For Alleged Child Rape:
According to reports, a traveling Tennessee pastor, Mr. Benjamin Garlick, a father of six who recently raised money online to help buy a car to transport his ministry across the nation, was detained and charged with multiple counts of child rape, while his wife was accused of facilitating his abuse.
On Facebook and YouTube, you may find proof of his ministry. Benjamin Garlick, whose late father Daniel Garlick was also an evangelist, reportedly oversaw church services throughout Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama, according to the report on the couple’s arrest on September 12.
The pastor, Benjamin Garlick, 32, was charged with five charges of aggravated rape of a child and five counts of aggravated sexual battery of a kid under the age of 13, according to court documents quoted by WGNS Radio. According to reports, the abuse started in February 2021.
The pastor’s wife, Mrs. Shaantal Garlick, 29, was further charged with one count of aiding and abetting aggravated rape of a child and one count of aggravated child abuse or endangerment to a kid age 8.
In December 2022, Garlick started a GoFundMe campaign to gather $40,000 to buy a new Ford Transit. With just 20 donations, he was able to raise more than $18,000 of the necessary funds. He remarked about how his wife’s trust in getting them a minivan for their expanding family had previously enabled them to do so.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened,” Garlick declared in a post on the campaign highlighting Matthew 7:7-8.
“When our third daughter Abigail was born, we realized that our Ford Focus was too small for us to fit our family. We began to pray, and I must confess that my faith was not what it should have been. My wife had been taught to pray specifically. She, having faith to move mountains, prayed for a minivan with everything she knew we would need or want in our new car,” he explained.
“I asked her where she expected to get the money to pay for such a van, and she replied, ‘From God.’ I told her good luck and didn’t think much of it after that. Within a matter of weeks, God paid for it, just like my wife had prayed.
According to court documents, Garlick is being held on $750,000 bail at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro. Following her arrest, his wife was freed on a $75,000 bond.
Mrs. Shaantal Garlick recently filed for an order of protection against her husband after they were scheduled to appear at a hearing on September 26.
