Why God Resists the Proud

Why God Resists the Proud: In our world today, everyone wants to feel important and valued. God wants us to feel great and acknowledge the unique things that he has placed in us.

Every gift and accomplishment we have here on earth is given to us by God. He allows us to achieve great things in life so that his name will be glorified.

When we allow our accomplishments to get into our heads, that can be our downfall. Most people’s downfall came to them because they were proud.

Those people are so proud of all the material things they have here on earth. Jesus Christ told us not to store our treasures here on earth because they are going to get rotten.

Matthew 23:12 “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Everything that we need here on earth is found in the word of God. If we want to be exalted by our heavenly father, we must be humble and obey him.

Everything that the Lord said in the Bible, he’s serious about it, and it’s for our benefit. If we look around our society, we will notice that proud people always find a way to get in trouble.

Jesus Christ is not telling us to be timid or not acknowledge our hard work, but let us be kind to people.

God is interested in how we treat people.

As children of God, we are expected to treat people around us with kindness. The thoughts we have for people are also important because our heavenly father reads our minds.

We must understand that God doesn’t bless intentions, but he blesses actions. Our kindness and love for people are what make us the representatives of God.

No matter the position or status we obtain in life, let us share the goodness of the Lord with others.

Luke 10:27:
“He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”

Mark 12:31:
“The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

When we treat people around us with love, that will make them open their hearts to God’s words. When your neighbor is struggling financially and you don’t have any money to give, your kind words are needed.

Be intentional with your words.

Why God Resists the Proud pt3

Our biggest problem is that most of us can’t control our emotions, and that leads us to say bad words. Emotional maturity is really important in our lives as children of God.

Words can make or break someone, so let us be careful about what we say. Proverbs 16:24 “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”

Let’s make it our responsibility to be kind with our words so that God will be happy with us. Any time we speak out of anger, let us learn to apologize.

We are not always perfect with our words because someone can annoy us. Learning to say “I’m sorry” can really save most of our relationships with people.

Complimenting other people can lift their spirits, and acknowledging their good work can make them happy.

Let our words reflect our relationship with God so that they can lift the spirits of those with us. Our words can be motivational and encourage people who are feeling down.

Proverbs 18:21: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
