ZAOGA Founder Archbishop Ezekiel Guti Dies at the age of 100

 

Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA) founder Archbishop Professor Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti dies Wednesday at the age of 100.

The Influential pastor’s demise was announced Wednesday by apostle Joseph Guti, the national executive chairman of ZAOGA in a video shared on the Eziekel TV channel.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we announce the promotion to the great glory of our dearly beloved spiritual father, visionary, and iconic leader, Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti. He peacefully departed from this world today Wednesday, 5th July 2023,” Apostle Joseph announced. “He has transitioned to be with his Lord and master whom he faithfully and sacrificially served for over eight decades.”

Furthermore, prayers were requested for Guti’s family and the church. He however announced that his funeral arrangement would be conveyed to the public in due time.

“As the church leaders and the family met to deliberate on the program which will be announced in due course, we appeal to you to pray for our mother Apostle and the family and the church at large to be comforted by the holy spirit,” he said.

Guti died precisely two months after he celebrated his centenary birthday on May 5, 2023. ZAOGA church also known as the Forward in Faith Ministries International was founded in 1960. The church however has grown to become one of the largest churches in Zimbabwe, with branches spread across the globe.

He launched  Eziekel Tv in 2008. The Broadcasting channel delivers video broadcasts to millions of people over satellite and the internet. In 2012  Guti established the Ezekiel Guti University in Bindura where he and his wife, Eunor Guti, served as chancellors.

Guti is also a renowned author of several inspiring Christian books. Among his many books include: Two Ways of Knowing God, Effective Preaching that Draws People to God, True Grace of God and False Grace and more.

Although married twice, he is survived by his second wife Prophetess Eunor Guti, and an unverified number of children.
