Andy Stanley is an American preacher, author and speaker. He is the founder of the North Point Ministries and ranked one of the top 10 influential pastors in America.
Biography
Andy Stanley was born Charles Andrew Stanley on May 16, 1958. Andy Stanley was born in Atlanta, Georgia to his parents, Charles Stanley and Anna J. Stanley. His father is the senior pastor of Atlanta’s First Baptist Church. His height is measured at 1.70m and weighs 77 kg.
Charles and Anna Stanley appeared to be the ideal couple. Up until the 10th grade, Andy had no idea that his parents’ relationship was in trouble. Every therapist and counselor they could think of had been consulted by his parents.
Andy had never before witnessed his mother and father fighting or even bickering. Later, his mother departed and stayed away from his father’s church ceremonies. A year after his father appointed him as the pastor of a satellite church, Andy noticed that his parents’ marriage was failing.
When Anna Stanley filed for divorce in June 1993, her covert departure from the pews became obvious. Her actions caused outrage among Southern Baptists, some of whom, according to a literal interpretation of the Bible, consider divorce to be a sin.
Andy and his father’s relationship had been deteriorating even before the divorce. Despite being partners in ministry, they started to compete.
They have begun attending each other’s churches. One visit that was caught on camera shows how far their relationship has come. Fortunately, Andy and his father reconciled before his father’s demise in April 2023.
Today, Stanley is the senior pastor of North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, which he founded in 1995.
Education
Stanley has a master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Georgia State University.
Family
Stanley is married to Sandra Stanley. The couple got married and now live outside of Atlanta, GA, with their three adult children.
Allison Stanley, their first child, has been involved in theater since she was a little child and is currently a student at the University of Central Florida where she is majoring in theatrical studies and history.
While Garrett Stanley is pursuing a technical engineering degree at both Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Because of Andy’s love and support for his family, they are incredibly close.
Ministry
In 1995, Stanley established North Point Community Church in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta, Georgia.
Andy Stanley began his working career at First Baptist Atlanta as an assistant pastor and student minister. After working there for a while, Andy and his friends started North Point Community Church in 1995.
With six active campuses, North Point Community Church is one of the biggest congregations in the country. Some churches in Atlanta include Buckhead Church, Browns Bridge Church, Woodstock City Church, Gwinnett Church, Decatur City Church, and East Cobb Church.
Andy Stanley is a writer in addition to being a preacher and the creator of numerous organizations. He has written nearly 20 novels on subjects including love, life, and religion.

CONTROVERSIES
Pastor Andy Stanley and his church has always come under fire for his teachings on homosexuality. In 2022, a video of his teaching affirming homosexuality started to trend on twitter, drawing criticism from the church and religious organizations alike.  The video comes from a longer message that Stanley delivered to the 2022 DRIVE conference hosted by his church last May. In the message, Stanley exhorts church leaders about how they are to pass on the faith to the next generation. He has six exhortations, but the video circulating on the web is a small part of his third point, which is about 11 minutes long and focuses exclusively on the issue of homosexuality.
