Bishop Walker to serve a 3rd 5-year term as International Presiding Bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.

The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International Council of Bishops has elected Bishop Joseph Walker III to serve a 3rd term as the International presiding Bishop of the church from 2023 to 2025. Bishop Walker disclosed in an Instagram post that he was humbled and honored. He at the same time described the conferment as “Historic”. “I’m humbled and honored to have been selected by @fgbcintl council of Bishops to serve a historic 3rd term as the International Presiding Bishop.” He wrote.

Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International is the largest African-American Baptist denomination with over 800 affiliate Churches across the globe. Bishop Walker began his pastorate at the then Mt. Zion in 1992 with 175 members. He was selected to succeed the founding International Presiding Bishop Paul S. Morton upon his retirement, in July 2013. Walker, from then till the present, remains the presiding bishop of the church. Currently, the Church claim to have nearly 2 million members in attendance.

Walker however further disclosed in the Instagram post that the principle which has motivated him over 30 years of pastoring was: “You don’t change the gift  just because you changed the wrapping paper.” “Our method may change but the mission is the same”. He stated.

He disclosed also that the founder has set the right foundation for the fellowship. Lastly, he assured the church of a better service. “All glory to God! I look forward to serving you more greatly.” He wrote.

Bishop Paul S. Morton in this regard also congratulated him on his new leadership mantle in an Instagram post.
