Brad Hambrick is the Pastor of Counseling at The Summit Church in  Durham, NC. He is also serves as an Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminar. In addition, he is a council member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition.  Also, Brad served as the general editor for the Becoming a Church that Cares Well for the Abused (churchcares.com) project.

Early Life

There is not a lot of information on his background. However, Brad Hambrick grew up in a small farming community in the Mississippi River, western Kentucky, He grew up with a younger brother,and he gave his life to Christ at the age of 9 year old. According to Brad:

“While I didn’t understand much more than I was a sinner in need of what Jesus did for me on the cross, the simple truths of the gospel were enough to change my heart and change the course of my life.”

Education

After high school, he proceeded to the  Union University; which was his first step towards ministry.  Brad served as a Middle School Youth Director / Director of Urban Outreach at Calvary Baptist Church during this time.

Brad Hambrick Wife

Sallie Hambrick is married to Brad Hambrick. The couple met during his final year at the Union University. Sallie and Brad moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). It was at SEBTS that he completed an M.Div in Biblical Counseling and a Th.M. in applied theology.

The couple are blessed with two sons.

Ministry

Brad and his wife eventually left SEBTS for Crossroads Counseling in Augusta, Georgia. In January 2011 Brad and his family moved back to Raleigh-Durham, NC. It was here that he worked as Pastor of Counseling at The Summit Church. Also he was the Instructor of Biblical Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 2012 Bridgehaven Counseling Associates, was launched. Bridgehaven is a para-church ministry established to expand the scope of care members of the Summit Church and the Community.
