The Hillsong Church brings us a new message by Pastor Brian Houston which is titled “God IS. God CAN. God WILL 3”.
Last week Pastor Brian started a restoration series which is titled “God Is, God can , God Will”. According to Pastor Brian It is also a faith series because it takes faith for us to believe that there will be restoration when everything else is in ruins. He posed the question “Are you a believer or a survivor?” It is easier to survive than it is to believe. He gave an illustration of believer and a survivor using the story of how two en were caught i a ship wreck. The survivor was just clinging onto the boat hoping he can survive while the believer could see the land and believed that he could make it. The believer was committed to endure while the survivor was fearful of being the sharks dinner.
Pastor added that you can choose to be a survivor, just hoping to survive through all that is going on or, you can be a believer standing on the promises of God. Another illustration was given from the story and how his downfall started just like every other normal day till he lost it all. The disciples of Jesus faced similar circumstances and that is why we find Apostle Paul writing in second Corinthians chapter 4 verse 8 – we are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed. That verse is one that speaks restoration.
He further added that God is not an author of confusion but of peace. So when we see trouble on every side we should bear in mind that it is not coming from God. The most important thing is that at the end of the crisis, you turn out to be more than a survivor. He also admonished us to make effort not to just survive but to continue in faith, only then are we going to see God’s restoration.
