We have to know that if we don’t remove approval addiction from our lives, we are not going to live them to the fullest. When we are addicted to approval, we are always going to do things just to please and get accepted by people. overcoming approval addiction, which appears to be a pretty big foundation for a whole lot of other things to operate in people’s lives. For example, if you live under a burden of guilt or a burden of shame or condemnation, If you experience feelings of insecurity, you may experience some unworthiness, low self-esteem, and low self-worth that will make you want to get approval from people. If you have an excessive need for approval, if you have an excessive need for validation and acceptance from other people to make you feel valued, you’re most likely an addict of approval. You are addicted to approval because you fear rejection and judgment, and you fear disapproval from others to the point where you try your best to avoid it. Rocking the boat at all costs is the scariest thing that you could experience because if you don’t gain their approval, you’re probably going to have to deal with feelings of low self-esteem because I depend on the approval of others.
You don’t need to depend on the approval of others to determine the value you’ll have for yourself. We have to stand up for ourselves and make the decision not to be addicted to seeking approval from people. Only God is the person on whom we should depend for his approval; when we do what he asks of us, that’s all we need. You should not depend on anyone for your self-worth and value.
