Creflo Dollar: The Purpose Of Suffering (Pt2)

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Creflo Dollar titled “The Purpose Of Suffering”. The text for the message is from the book of 1 Peter 1:3–7.

Why does our faith have to be put on trial? Why do certain things happen in our lives? We thought being saved was supposed to be all about everything going well, but as soon as it doesn’t, we start questioning God, and there’s a difference between asking God a question and questioning God. Questioning is done in doubt: “If God is good, then why did that happen?”

In reality, nobody really enjoys having their faith put on trial unless there’s a purpose or unless God’s got a plan for it. God is about to bring something awesome out of us—the masterpiece that he’s designed in us.

God is telling us we must endure many trials for a little while; we must not be defeated by trials; whatever trouble we see, we’re going to outlast the trouble because of who we are in Christ Jesus. We should be thankful for the wonderful joy that awaits us as we endure many trials—not one, but many trials. The trials will show that our faith is genuine. The only way we can know if our faith is genuine is when we go through trials and come out knowing that God is still the person we depend on.

Trials are going to locate genuine faith; if you understand that your faith is not genuine, you need God to help you.

And when your faith is genuine, the trial won’t stop you or cause you to quit; the only thing the trial is going to do is reveal that your faith in Jesus Christ has been real the whole time. Our faith is more precious than gold; when our faith remains strong through many trials, God will see that our faith is real to Him.
