Christians of the modern era don’t like the word “suffering,” because it does not fit the narrative of modern Christians’ churches, because when we talk about suffering, that’s something that seems to be negative, something that seems to be attributed to defeat, and nobody wants to suffer. So the topic has to be avoided, but it is something that, if we truly read the Bible, we’ll find throughout the Bible.
We skip over the topic: no matter where we find ourselves, we will win when we trust God. We should not be afraid of suffering; it has a purpose and mission; it is used to accomplish something.
When we find ourselves in a trial, we should not waste it; we should learn something and use every trial to grow, as that is one of the purposes of suffering.
“Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ and makes manifest the savour” of how we win in every situation, says 2 Corinthians 2:14. Even though we have won in our Lord Jesus Christ, we still have things to deal with because those are the actions of our winning.
As we’re dealing with these situations, we have to look at them from the perspective of how God sees them. God has also set us up to win. There will be many afflictions that we will have to deal with, but God has promised to deliver us from them all.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:20 that he will always be with us, even until the end of the world. We have to trust God.
