We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “The Spirit of Mammon.” The text for the message is Luke 16:10: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”
The whole passage talks about a steward who is not faithful with his Lord’s money.
Pastor Dollar asked us a question: “Who is governing you where money is concerned?”
As Christians, we have to know who is governing us where money is concerned: God or the spirit of mammon? You cannot serve both God and the spirit of mammon. The least use of your faith in the kingdom of God is in the area of money. We have to know that the grace of God has made everything available that we’ll need in life, but we need faith to get it.
Trust is the currency in the kingdom of God; if God can trust you with the money you have, he will trust you with much more. Your level of trust is going to be based on the lowest level in the kingdom, which is money. We have to trust God over money; learning to give is the best thing we can do as Christians.
We have to be careful so that money will not be our master. We have to prove to God that we can trust him with money so that God will trust us with greater things. People don’t like listening to or learning about giving because the spirit of mammon is trying to control us in the area of money.
Can we trust God? We can serve two masters at the same time; we are aware of the spirit that governs our financial lives. We should not be slaves to money or worship money; money can’t give us the spirit that is controlling us in the area of money. We should not be slaves to money or worship money; money can’t give us what God’s grace has made for us. When we are faithful with our money, God sees that we are not slaves to it, and we will be able to have all that God has created for us: blessings, favor, deliverance, peace of mind, and eternal life.
