The text for this message is from Book of Jonah 4:1: “But to this, but to Jonah, this seemed very wrong, and he became angry. He prayed to the Lord, saying, “Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? This is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshas. I knew that you were gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. Now, Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live.”
Pastor Dharius teaches us in this message about being strong in God and believing that he will take care of everything that concerns us. A quote that I thought was an asset was “how people treat you will determine their harvest; how you respond will determine yours.” We have to be very careful about how we respond to people’s attitudes towards us. Not everyone is going to treat us right, but we have to be careful with how we react. How people treat you will determine their harvest, and how you respond will determine yours. Is a powerful principle I think we should all put into practice. where we are experiencing the inevitability of adversity. Pastor Dharius said that adversity is inevitable because he eavesdropped on a conversation that Jesus was having with his apprentices, and in John chapter 16, he says these words to his apprentices: “I have told you these things so that in me, articulate is going to create the absence of peace.” In other words, your lack of peace is going to be based on your lack of information. He says, I want you to know this because I understand the power of ignorance. Ignorance is expensive because whatever area you are ignorant in, you are vulnerable.
