Pastor Dharius teaches us in this message about growing through what we face. No matter what we are facing or going through, God has allowed us to experience it for our growth. When Jesus died, he bequeathed the New Testament to us, and Paul is saying that there are some promises in the New Testament for you that are only possessed by grown people. For us to get some of the promises of God in our lives, we have to grow, and growth is really important in our lives. You want peace that passes all understanding; that’s for grown people. You want unspeakable joy full of glory; that’s for grown people. You want to be spiritually steady enough to look the enemy in the face and say, “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for my good.” That is for grown people. We have to be willing to learn from our experiences, because that is when growth occurs. In Galatians 4:1, “Paul says, “What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different than a slave, although he owns the whole estate.” Apostle Paul is talking to people who are called “believers in galatia who are being influenced by judaizers who are trying to conflate this new expression of adherence and allegiance to Yahweh with the old religious rules, regulations, and customs, and Paul’s saying, “He said I want y’all to understand something; he says that that stuff was temporary; you got to grow out of that; you can’t stay in immaturity and expect to experience elevation; he says there are some levels you don’t go to, you got to grow to.”
We have to come to a stage where we are spiritually and emotionally mature so that we can experience and see the promises of God in our lives. God has made blessings and promises available for us, but we have to get mature enough to experience them.
