Fellowship Church Mourns Founding Member, Prentice Scoggins

Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, is grieving the loss of a founding member and dedicated leader, Prentice Scoggins.

The news was announced by the church’s senior pastor, Ed Young, on social media.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Prentice Scoggins, a true warrior in the faith and founding member of Fellowship Church,” the post reads.

Pastor Young went on to highlight Scoggins’ passion for spreading the faith and his unwavering dedication, which played a significant role in shaping the church’s identity.

“Prentice’s passion to see people know Christ and his relentless dedication defined so much of who he was and who we are as a church today,” the post continues.

Fellowship Church invites the community to celebrate Pastor Scoggins’ life at a memorial service on Monday, June 24th, at 3:00 PM, at Fellowship Church Grapevine.

The post concludes with a request to keep Pastor Scoggins’ wife, Doris, and his family in prayer during this difficult time.

According to a statement on his website, Prentice Scoggins, 87, died in his home in Irving, Texas, on June 20. He was described as an “ultimate “people person” who “never met a stranger.”

The statement also highlighted his godly legacy of love for his church, his family, and many others. “His love for his Savior and his family always took precedence over promotions at work or other outside activities,” reads the statement.

Following his memorial service at Fellowship Church, his burial will be held at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
