Gateway Church Welcomes Forking & Country for “Unsung Hero” Performance
Pastor Robert Morris, the founder of Gateway Church, has announced an exciting musical and inspirational weekend at the church.
The church will be hosting the musical group Forking & Country on April 27th and 28th at their Southlake Campus.
The announcement reads: “We’re getting ready for another great weekend at Gateway Church! I’m excited that @forkingandcountry will be joining us for a special performance of their song ‘Unsung Hero’ and to share about their new movie, Unsung Hero.”
Morris further elaborated that Forking & Country will perform live at all services on both days. The service schedule coincides with the continuation of Gateway Church’s “Jesus in the Center” series, with Morris himself delivering the message.
The song “Unsung Hero” by the Christian pop duo For King & Country came out in January 2022. It was the first single to promote their fifth album, titled “What Are We Waiting For?”. The song is also on the soundtrack of their biographical movie, which premiered on 26th April 2024. The movie shares the same name as the song.
The heartwarming Christian film tells the true story of the Smallbones, a big Australian family who moved to Nashville in the early 1990s after his father David’s dream of working in music as a promoter came true.
Directed by Richard Ramsey and Joel Smallbone, who also portrays his father, David, the film chronicles their experiences as they chase their dreams. Daisy Betts portrays David’s wife, Helen. Kirrilee Berger as Rebecca in a moving performance alongside an all-star cast including Jonathan Jackson, and Candace Cameron Bure.
