The American gospel legend Priscilla Marie Winans Love, professionally known as CeCe Winans, has emerged as a finalist in the Top Gospel category of the Billboard Music Award.
In view of the Billboard Music Award scheduled for Sunday, November 19, 2023, several gospel artists, including the 15-time Grammy Award winner, have been nominated to be honored at the event.
The 59-year-old wife and mother of two, who is also a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, was nominated in the top gospel artist category. Her song “Goodness of God” was also nominated for the Top Gospel Song.
Sharing the news on her Instagram post on Friday, Winans wrote: “I’m honored to be a finalist at this year’s #BBMAs! Tune in Sunday, November 19th via @bbmas, @billboard and bbmas.watch!”
Winans, known for her powerful vocals, inspirational lyrics, and energetic live performance, is the most-awarded and best-selling gospel act of all time. She has sold over 17 million records globally.
In addition to winning the Grammy Award 15 times, she has been awarded 31 Dove Awards and 17 Stellar Awards, among other accolades.
Winans will be competing with other top gospel artists such as Kanye West, Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music and Elevation worship
