Brandon Lake, an American worship pastor at Seacoast Church in Charleston, South Carolina, has been nominated for four Billboard Music Awards.
The Grammy award-winning Christian worship singer, songwriter, guitarist, and member of the Maverick City Music Collective took to Instagram to announce that he is a finalist in the Top Christian Artist category.
In addition to his nomination in the Top Christian Artist category, his album, “House of Miracles” was nominated as the Top Christian Album, his song “Gratitude” emerged as the Top Christian Song, and “Fear is Not My Future” came out as the Top Gospel Song category.
Lake, who acknowledged being honored by the nomination, has also expressed gratitude in an October 26 Instagram post
“Honored to be a finalist in the running for these categories!!!,” Lake wrote in the Instagram caption of a video clip showing the list of his various nominations. “Been an insane few years and I couldn’t be more grateful for these songs and the testimonies of how they’ve impacted so many lives. Thank you Jesus” he added.
It is, however, not surprising that Lake is nominated for Top Christian Artist. In recent years, he has become one of the most popular and successful Christian music artists. His song “Gratitude” has been used in many churches and ministries, serving as a powerful and moving anthem of praise and thanksgiving.
Recently, he launched a music tour called “Coat of Many Colors.” The tour is in celebration of his latest album of the same name, which was released early this month. The album has been praised for its diversity of sound and its message of hope and healing. The tour kicked off last night in Tyler, Texas, and is expected to last until November 12.
Expressing his excitement to perform at the tour in an October 26 Instagram post, Lake wrote:
“The #COATOFMANYCOLORS tour kicks off TONIGHT in TYLER TEXAS!! Can’t wait for you to experience all the colors of this record LIVE! Drop a comment & let me know which song you’re most excited to hear.”
The Billboard Music Award will be held on November 19, 2023. Lake will be competing against some of the biggest names in Christian music, including Phil Wickham, Lauren Daigle, and Elevation Worships.
