Greg Laurie appeals for Scruggs family over death of daughter, Hallie Scruggs who died amid Nashville school shooting

The senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship has taken to his Instagram yesterday to request prayers for the family of Chad Scruggs, a Presbyterian pastor who lost their 9-year-old daughter, Hallie Scruggs, following the Nashville, private elementary school shooting. “Let’s all be praying for the Scruggs family. They lost their beloved little girl, Hallie in this act of pure evil,” He wrote.

Greg went on express his empathy for Pastor Chad’s family, further disclosing that he too had earlier lost his son. “Having lost a son, I know they are in unimaginable pain right now. I know there are so many “why” questions.” Greg wrote, recalling  what Pastor Chuck Smith had said to him when he lost his son, “Never trade what you do know for what you don’t know.” He quoted.

Again, Greg stated some words of comfort, where he postulated that God loves the Scruggs family. He claimed also that Hallie is in heaven already, adding that they would be together one day. “God loves this Christian family. Little Hallie Scruggs is in heaven right now. They will all be reunited one day”. Greg wrote, adding that “Hallie is not just a part of their past, she is also a part of their future.”

Pastor Greg Laurie lastly appeals for heavenly comfort for the Scruggs family and also beseeched that all may as well pray for other victims of the shooting. “May God comfort this family as only He can today. Let’s also be praying for the families of the five others who lost loved ones.”

It’s disheartening indeed. Our hearts and prayers are with the Victim’s families.
