Greg Laurie Solicits Prayers for the missing Titan Sub Crew

The senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, Greg Laurie has requested prayers for the five crew members who went missing on Sunday after embarking on an adventure to view the Titanic wreckage.
On Sunday morning, a submersible Titan took a group of five people two miles down in the ocean to view the wreckage of the Titanic. Unfortunately, hours into the diving, communication broke down and the submersible was lost. Rescue operations however were called upon to go in search of the adventurers.
Following the  incident news outbreak, in a Tuesday  Instagram video, Laurie lamented, noting the news is “scary” and “heartbreaking.” He subsequently requested prayers for their rescue.
“I think of these people in this tiny submarine which is effectively the size of a minivan who may have lost power. They certainly don’t have communication. So I think we need to pray for these rescue efforts. We need a miracle to get these people out of these alive,” Laurie said.
Laurie further referenced the missing men’s situation with that of Jonah in the Bible who was trapped in a fish belly for three days.
“I’m thinking of those folks in that tiny submersible craft. And I’m reminded of the words of Jonah when he was trapped in the belly of a fish. And he said ‘I cried from the depths of the hell and you heard me.” I mean there was Jonah down in the ocean in the belly of the whale. I hope those folks are calling on the lord. So let’s be praying for them and praying for the rescue efforts as well,” Laurie requested.
CNN reported after four days of failed rescue that the five crew members were “believed to be dead after a catastrophic implosion.” The search for the missing submersible continues, however.
