Jentezen Franklin: Developing a Life of Prayer

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin titled, “Developing a Life of Prayer.” Pastor Jentezen tells us that it is a sin not to pray. We are sinning against the Lord by ceasing to pray; if we forget our prayers, we are literally forgetting God. If, as a Christian, prayer is not real to you, it means God is not real to you. If you don’t pray, you die spiritually, and you need the help of the Holy Spirit to develop a prayer life. The Holy Spirit lives on the inside of us, and he’s there to teach us things that we don’t know.

Pastor Jentezen establishes rules for prayer life.

  1. Prayer must be a priority for a Christian. When you read the Bible, that’s God talking to you, but when you pray, that’s you talking to God. The most important thing a believer can do is to develop a prayer life. We must prioritize God over everything else in our lives. We are not to play with our prayer lives as Christians because that is where we talk to God and he listens to us.
  2. You need a time for prayer. As a Christian, if you don’t have a time for prayer, you’re not going to make it in the ministry. As a believer, there must be a time to pray and spend time with God. There might be a time when you don’t feel like praying, but you have to do it because it’s important. No matter whether you are feeling high or low in your emotions, God rewards us in either way. You don’t need to feel like praying before you pray; you have to be committed to your prayer life because that’s the time you have set aside for God. The best thing a believer in Christ can ever do is to set aside a time for prayer somewhere where there is no distraction.

This is a message that you will love.
