Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Joel Osteen at the Lakewood Church Sunday Service with Pastor Nick Nilson titled “Enjoying the Process.” The text for the message is from 1 Thessalonians 5:16. “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Pastor Nick Nilson strengthens us in this message to believe in God’s promises over anything you can see with your physical eyes. We should get ready to give God thanks for opening doors that no one can shut and for taking us where we can’t go on our own. We have to know and understand that God is always working in our lives, even when we don’t see anything happening. It’s just a matter of His timing. We are called to be thankful in all situations in our lives because that’s God’s will for us.
We have to know that life doesn’t happen in an instant. In our society today, we are trained that everything needs to go fast. Life always reminds us how far we need to go and how well we are doing. We have to enjoy the process God has planned for us; we are so focused on the next that we miss the hidden treasure right now. God took six days to create the world. While he can do things instantly, God established life principles that it takes time for good things to take shape, form, and develop. We have to learn how to enjoy the process we are in while God is taking us to the next stage of our lives. One of the keys to joy and contentment in our lives and to becoming everything God designed us to be is celebrating the good on the way to the very good. We get so obsessed with the next thing and what’s unfinished in our lives that we don’t enjoy the now. It’s easier to get discouraged when we don’t see what we hope for, like marriage, a dream job, or a dream house. We have to thank God for the little good in our lives. We should not wait for the total victory before we celebrate; God wants us to enjoy the process. When we celebrate the partial victories in our lives, it is just a matter of time before God takes us to the total victory.
