Here is a message from Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “Be content and Low Maintain.” The message’s text is taken from Luke 3:14.
Pastor Joyce tells us that we have to learn how to be content most of the time. One of the things we learn is to just stop complaining. We get answers from God by praying, not by complaining. When we pray and complain, we are delaying our answers because God does not answer complaints but prayers.
James 5:9 “Do not grumble against one another so that you may not be judged.” Don’t complain about something that you’re not willing to do anything about. If you feel there is something you want to change, you should be willing to do something about it. Don’t complain about how tired you are if you’re not going to readjust your life so that you can get more rest. Don’t complain about being overweight if you’re going to keep overeating. Don’t complain about being broke if you keep spending money unnecessarily.
What is the point of complaining about something that we don’t intend to do anything about? We could fix our own problem if we just made a decision. Don’t have a complaint without a vision to fix it. Habakkuk went to God with a complaint, and God said, “Get a vision and write it down plainly so that anyone who passes can see it.”
Habakkuk 2:1-2 “I will take my place at my watch post and station myself on the tower, looking out to see what he will say to me and what I will say in response to my complaint,” said the Lord, and the Lord replied, “Write the vision; make it plain on a tablet so that whoever passes by may read it.”
Get a vision for how to solve your problem and change what you’re doing that isn’t working. Don’t try to do the same thing over and over if it’s not working; get a vision and fix your life. If you are in debt and it’s putting a lot of pressure on you, figure out how you will get the bills paid.
