Here is a message from Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “Facing Fear and Finding Freedom.” Pastor Joyce tells us that we all have more fear in our lives than we might even recognize. “You can’t be free from something that you don’t recognize and learn how to deal with.” Pastor Joyce tells us that we all have more fear in our lives than we might even recognize. You can’t be free from something that you don’t recognize and learn how to deal with. When you recognize it, you have to confront it. One thing about fear is that you can’t run from it; fear loves to chase you and watch you run. God wants us to confront things and deal with them knowing that he’s with us and that we can do anything, anytime, and anywhere that we need to do it.
God is with you; that is the main reason the Bible gives for not being afraid: “Fear not, for I am with you; I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.” Every day of your life, you have to acknowledge and know that God is with you and that you are never alone. When you know that God is with you, it becomes a greater conscious reality for you. It will make you feel cool that you and God are doing life together.
You don’t go to church every Sunday morning to see God; we are the church. We are the temple of God, and he lives in us, and he will never leave us nor forsake us.
Fear means “to run from.” Fear can cause us to shrink back and not do what we are supposed to do. Sometimes in life, we think we have to talk to someone, but fear makes us not do it. We have the Holy Spirit in us to show us what to do, so we can courageously follow him.
Courage means “doing it despite being afraid.” It means doing what you know you should do despite your fear. You will feel fear at different times in your life, and you have to face it. Fear is the devil’s number one weapon that he uses against God’s people to keep them from their God-ordained destiny. God has given us an antidote to fear, and that’s faith.
