Pastor Joyce teaches us in this message that we have to understand that God’s waiting for our sake. Even though Jesus was the Son of God, he learned obedience from what he suffered. Through his suffering, Jesus gained the experience and equipment that he needed to become the author of our salvation. No matter how you feel, don’t give up because God is going to bring you through and bring you out; you will not be the same person you were before. When we go through suffering, we’re going to come out with experience and equipment. God is looking for people with equipment and some experience that he can trust.
God chooses and uses the weak and foolish things of the world to do great things. In Colossians 1:28–29, it says, “He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” God wants us to mature fully in him so that we can do great things in our lives. If you don’t like mysteries, you are not going to like hanging out with God, because there will be a lot of things that go on in your life that you are not going to understand. There are things we might not understand until we get to heaven; there are things that happened that don’t seem fair. Sometimes we see God blessing people that we think don’t deserve it because we think we are more spiritual than them.
God does things sometimes not because they deserve them but to pull junk out of you and make you better. We have to understand that trials mixed with waiting develop patience; patience is the ability to wait with a good attitude. It is never too late for the great things God is going to do in our lives. God wants us to believe him and trust his word. We don’t have to live in fear and be angry all the time; we have to enjoy our lives while Jesus works on our problems.
