Meyer uses the story of Daniel used to illustrate the power of the decisions we make. Daniel found himself in a place and in a circumstance that he did not choose. This is the situation most of us have found ourselves in.
Even though we do not always find ourselves where we want to be. We always have the choice of making decision wherever we find ourselves. The decisions we make in hard places are some of the most important decisions of our life.
Daniel made a decision even in slavery to honor God and not defile himself with the King’s food. He made a decision to still serve God even in his difficult place.
When we find ourselves in a difficult place, we are urged to serve God as if all is well. The good things you would do in good times, you should do in difficult times.
Cultivate the habit of serving God, even in that difficult place. Often we make plans and our plans fail. However, most times it is all part of God’s plan. What God has planned for us is so much better than what we have planned for ourselves.
Stop worrying and trust God instead.
