Late Megachurch Pastor TB Joshua Reportedly Abused Women for Nearly 20 Years
One of Nigeria’s most controversial megachurch preachers and televangelists, T.B Joshua has been accused of secretly abusing and raping young women from three continents multiple times a week for nearly 20 years.
More than two years after the death of the Synagogue Church of All Nations founder, an investigation report by BBC unveiled a hidden side of him, marked by hypocrisy and alleged wrongdoing.
Despite the impression of a godly prophet that Joshua promoted to his millions of followers worldwide, several survivors in the recent report revealed that Joshua rained “Hell” upon his victims inside his 12-story living compound that adjoins his Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria.
“We all thought we were in Heaven, but we were in Hell,” a woman and survivor identified as Rae said while telling the BBC about the 12 years she spent in Joshua’s compound. “And in Hell, terrible things happen.”
Numerous women reported to the news network that Joshua who was a friend of politicians, athletes, and other celebrities across the globe had repeatedly and forcefully sexually abused them in private.
When some of them got pregnant, they alleged they were forced to have abortions.
“This story is like a horror story. It’s like something you watch in fiction, but it’s true,” Rae said.
One of the women, identified as Victoria, said she was tasked with selecting young ladies for Joshua from the church. Another woman, identified as Bisola, claimed to have been entrusted with the responsibility of locating virgins.
“TB Joshua asked me to recruit virgins for him,” she said. “So that he could bring them into the disciple-fold and disvirgin them.”
