Shepherd Bushiri Washes Hands of 20000 at New Year’s Eve Prayer Event
Enlightened Christian Gathering Church founder Shepherd Bushiri has announced a record-breaking number of 20,000 people’s hands washed during its recently concluded New Year’s Eve prayer.
The event, held at the church’s Prayer Mountain in Lilongwe Malawi was called the “Night of Wealth Transfer.” The event saw thousands of people gathered from all works of life seeking blessings and guidance for the year ahead.
In a significant approach to preparing participants of the event for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead of the new year, Bushiri anointed their hands.
Sharing the staggering number on his Tuesday Instagram post, He noted however that he was instructed by God to perform the handwashing. “This water is a prophetic instruction,” Bushiri said in a video of the event while holding the water.
In the video, Bushiri is also seen anointing the hands of participants, who eagerly open their palms to receive the blessing.
“Before we crossed over into the new year, the Lord instructed me to anoint and wash the hands of everyone at the prayer mountain in preparation for the year 2024,” Bushiri wrote in a post accompanying the video.
“With the help of the Holy Ghost, God gave me strength and I managed to anoint the hands of over 20,000 people who came from different parts of the world. To God be the glory, honor, and praise.”
The video of the event has gone viral, with many people commenting on the powerful and moving experience. Many took to the comment section to express awe at the sheer number of participants.
The record-breaking number of handwash comes after the British-Malawian preacher revealed a staggering attendance of over 12,000 international church leaders during the church’s first annual leadership conference.
