Learn To Stand up For Yourself

Learn To Stand up For Yourself: As children of God we are taught in church to love everyone.

Loving everyone is what the Lord has commanded us to do here on earth because we are representing him.

There are going to be times when we have to stand up for ourselves.

There will be times when people will try to take advantage of us because we are kind to God.

Standing up for yourself doesn’t mean that you must be arrogant or rude to everyone we come across.

As children of God when our friends or family may try to lead us to sin but let is say No.

Is so important for us to learn how to say no for ourselves and stand by it

Story

There was a boy called Kelvin who grew up in a Christian home. His parents taught everything he needs to know about Christ.

When he finished highschool and went for college he got influenced by bad friends because he was afraid of saying No to them.

The sinful lifestyle caused him to lose everything in his life.Got bad grades and was unable to graduate from the college.

We all have bright future but most of us make the mistake of making bad decisions then blaming it on God.

King Saul was his throne because he wanted to please the people of Israel by disobeying God.

God hates it when we disobey him because it breaks his heart.

The Bible verse that comes to mind is:

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” – 1 Samuel 15:23 (KJV)

This verse refers to King Saul’s disobedience to God’s command to destroy the Amalekites and their livestock. Instead, Saul spared the king and the best of the livestock to sacrifice to God, trying to please the people and himself. This act of disobedience led to God rejecting Saul as king of Israel.

“But Samuel said, ‘Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.'” – 1 Samuel 15:22 (ESV)

Let Us Do Our Best To Be The Best

Our heavenly father knows that we can’t be perfect on our own strength.

The world has claimed that there is no need of trying our best to be the best.

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” – Matthew 5:48 (NI

“Strive for perfection, listen to my appeals, and be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” – 2 Corinthians 13:11 (NRSV)

Note that the concept of “perfection” in these verses doesn’t mean achieving flawlessness, but rather striving for maturity, completeness, and wholeness in our relationship with God and in our lives.

Everything that we do here on earth let us do our best to please God and also depend on his strength.

Self improvement and development is something that every Christian should practice all the time.

We can’t be on level as we started our journey of life as children of God
