Pastor Ed Young: Biography, Age, Family Life, Ministry And Net Worth: Pastor Edwin Barry Young, often called Ed Young is the senior pastor of the Fellowship Church Grapevine, Texas. He is also a writer, a speaker, and an artist. He is married to Lisa Milne Young. 

Biography

Pastor Ed Young was born in Canton, North Carolina. He is the oldest son of Dr. Homer Edwin Young, the senior pastor of Second Baptist Church Houston in Houston, Texas. Dr. Edwin Homer Young Sr was married to Jo Beth Landrum.

There is not much information on his growing up but Pastor Ed Young was called to Ministry at an early age. Ed Young comes from a family with a history of ministry. His father, Ed Young Sr., is a well-known pastor and author as well. This legacy of ministry has influenced his own path.

Pastor Ed Young is known for his dynamic and engaging preaching style. He often addresses practical life issues, drawing insights from the Bible to provide guidance for everyday challenges. Ed Young and Fellowship Church are known for their innovative use of media and technology to spread their message. Education

Pastor Young attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, where he also played basketball. It was also here that he received a basketball scholarship. 

After his sophomore year, Young transferred to Houston Baptist University, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He also obtained a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Family Life

Pastor Young is married to Lisa Young. Lisa and Ed Young have four children; LeeBeth EJ, Laurie, Landra. LeeBeth died in 2021. Together,  the couple is the senior pastors of the Fellowship Church Grapevine, Texas. 

Lisa Young is also a pastor and a speaker who is very passionate about women. Pastor Lisa holds a degree in Early Childhood Education, and she is an author as well. some of her co-authored works include:

Fellowship Church

Pastor Ed Young was called into the ministry during his sophomore year at Florida State University. He returned to Houston and transferred to the Houston Baptist University. It was here that he worked at his father’s church as an associate pastor. 

The Fellowship Church began in February 1990, out of a rented office complex before they moved to an arts center. 

In 1996, the Fellowship Church moved into Irving’s MacArthur High School to accommodate the increasing congregation. 

The first permanent facility of the Church, sitting on a 141-acre (0.57 sq km) property in Grapevine, Texas, was opened in 1998.

In 2003, Fellowship Church opened its first two satellite locations in Plano and Fort Worth, TX. A third satellite campus followed suit two years later in Dallas, Texas. 

 In May 2006, Fellowship Church opened a satellite campus in South Miami, FL; North Port Florida in 2017. 

In August 2018, Journey Church in Norman, OK, became Fellowship Church Norman.

In 2008, Fellowship Church hosted its first summer camp and retreat center in Hawkins, TX, at Allaso Ranch. 

Outreach

First, Pastor Ed Young organizes a yearly leadership conference, Creative Church Culture Conference, known as the C3 conference.

The C3 conference is a two-day conference held annually at the Fellowship Church Grapevine Texas.  Pastor Ed & Lisa started the C3 Conference and the C3 Global for pastors and leaders,  to elevate their effectiveness, expand their capacity, and grow the local church.

C3 Global was created to unite the Church, share ideas, create an environment of support, and push each other to fulfill the vision God has given us to reach our communities.

Second, In 2010, when the country of Haiti was struck by an earthquake,  Fellowship Church and the C3 Global provided relief. To date, the church has provided almost 11 million meals in partnership with C3 Global. 

Thirdly, The Fellowship Church also hosts an annual retreat for Gold Star families with America’s Mighty Warriors, with past guests Rick Perry, Glenn Beck, and Mike Huckabee.

i\In addition, In 2016, Fellowship Church opened its first prison campus; God Behind Bars. Since 2016, the church has since opened 2 more prison campuses. In 2017, Fellowship Church participated in relief recovery for those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
