July 17,2010. Ten years. I can’t believe it. As of today, It’s been ten years and a day since I PROPOSED to @iamaventergray. In order to understand the power of being in a relationship-let alone a marriage- for ten years, you’d have to know my family history. Men in our family just don’t do marriage well. I didn’t have the tools I needed, but Aventer saw my heart and my desire to break generational curses. She said yes. Five months later ON DECEMBER 11,2010 we got married, and we’ve seen God every since.
Through love and loss, miracles and sickness, betters and “worsers”, faith and tears, we are here. I am not the man I am today without this woman. My kids are here because of her sacrifice. The uncomfortable places of growth are because she she saw greater in me. I’ve pushed her dreams and she’s pushed mine. Aventer thank you for saying yes. I love you. I am grateful for you. I honor you. Happy proposalversary @iamaventergray! Believing God for greater in the next ten!”
