Birmingham Rock City Church Pastor Michael McClure, Jr., popularly known as Mike Jr., won eight Gospel Music Association Stellar Awards.
Pastor Mike Jr. has not only won the Gospel Artist of the Year but also won 7 other Stellar Awards. He won the Male Artist of the Year, and the Contemporary Artist of the Year. His song “Impossible” was recognized as the Song of the Year. His Album “Winning” was the Album of the Year and Contemporary Album category, reports Birmingham Times.
The July 15 award came one week after he won the music video of the Year for “Mr. McClure,” and Rap/hip hop of the Year for “Black Sheep.”
“I am incredibly humbled and honored to have received this prestigious gospel music award, representing not only my talent but also my beloved city,” Mike Jr. told The Birmingham Times.
“This recognition serves as a testament to the unwavering support and encouragement I have received from my community. I am reminded of the countless individuals who have believed in me, uplifted me, and inspired me to pursue my passion of inspiring the world for God!”
Mike Jr. said his winning eight Stellars and the Artist of the Year for the third time is “a collective triumph for my city, as it showcases the rich musical heritage and the remarkable talent that resides within its boundaries.”
In an Instagram Post, Mike expressed his excitement about being recognized as not just a musician but a pastor. “The caption is what so many miss,” Mike wrote. “‘BIRMINGHAM’S PASTOR’ I’m more than a musician.”
He further announced his goal is to “be IMPACTFUL not IMPRESSIVE.” “I’m so grateful that God favored me. And even more excited to hear the stories of hope that so many are inboxing me. Thank you to everyone who prayed, voted, and love me! Unapologetically walking into our Winning Season!,” he concluded.
