Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts shares this sermon, which is titled “The Power of Your Call”. The text for the message is from the book of Philipians 4:6-7.
“it says be anxious for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and Minds through Christ Jesus”
According to Pastor Sarah, this passage of the scripture speaks to the power of what happens when we take what we’ve been carrying to the Lord in prayer. And when we lay it out before God most of us just stop at that point and then we miss that the second part says that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and Minds.
She talked about the transmission that happens when we lay our burden before God. Where we once had anxiety, God will give us peace and we have the capacity to be and do what God wants us to.
Speaking more on this, Sarah talks about how God points the need for us to embody the revelation of Who You Are.
“Whoever you are in his eyes, it’s not part-time. It’s not something you’re waiting to step into; two have been called to embody a word. He spoke a word that brought your life into existence, and if I am embodying my trauma or if I am embodying the other things that have happened to me—I’m embodying stress, I’m embodying other people’s responsibility—hen I cannot embody the word that makes me effective in why I was brought into the Earth”
She went on to cite examples of people in the scripture who understood the importance of this transmission and “shaking things off”. Also, she talked about the power of putting things behind us and forging ahead.
