In this message Pastor Scott ‘Sanga’ Samways, Newcastle campus Pastor unpacks the great story of the woman and the alabaster jar and encourages us that through our faith, we can access the fragrance of God. The woman in the story was never invited to the banquet but she took great boldness to step into her breakthrough. That is the same boldness we need to approach Jesus to get our breakthrough. Another lesson we learn is that inviting Jesus into our situations is the best thing we can ever do. Jesus was invited and she went and met her breakthrough. when Jesus comes into our problem, he gives us rest and shelters us from he problem like he did the woman.
Mary broke the alabaster jar on Jesus because she knows that it was her all or nothing. The lesson from this is, what are you willing to give to God. She gave a year’s wages worth of perfume to Jesus. She broke the jar and did not try to preserve it.
