Shepherd Bushiri Claims Shouting to God Can Provoke Instant Answers

Enlightened Christian Gathering Church founder Shepherd Bushiri has sparked debate with his recent sermon that “shouting out and making noise for God’s attention is crucial” for receiving divine mercy and instant answers to prayers.

In a recap of his Sunday sermon shared Monday on his Instagram page, Bushiri argues that shouting can instantly provoke God to answer one’s prayer.

Basing his assertion on the scripture passage where the blind Bartimaeus shouted to Jesus for healing, Bushiri argues that Jesus responded favorably due to the man’s vocal plea. He encourages his followers to emulate Bartimaeus’s enthusiasm, believing that demonstrating humility and desperation through vocal expressions can move God to act swiftly.

“Whenever… Jesus is passing, only those who were shouting are the ones who attracted Jesus’ attention,” Bushiri said to his cheering congregations in the video. The Bible says only the people who were actually… when he is passing by are those who were shouting. And the bible says people were saying stop shouting and the bible says Jesus said don’t stop him from shouting.”

He continued by noting that “only those who were making noise” received instant answers to their prayers. “But all those people who were silent, nothing was happening, only those who were shouting,” he added.

This unconventional stance has elicited mixed reactions within the religious community. Supporters of Bushiri, particularly those within his Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church, find merit in his interpretation.

Many took to the comment section to express their agreement with the Pastor’s sermon. “powerful revelation dad,” one follower wrote. “Amen my prophet we will shout even the more in the mighty name of Jesus,” another wrote. “I refuse to remain silent.” another added.

However, critics, including theologians and leaders from other denominations, raise concerns about potential misinterpretations and manipulative tactics. They argue that reducing God’s interaction with humanity to a mere response to noise undermines the complexities of prayer.
