Enlightened Christian Gathering Church Founder and senior pastor Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has taken to social media to offer profound insights into the two essential qualities that distinguish effective prayers.
In a Thursday Instagram post, the Malawian preacher teaches that for a prayer to be effective and dynamic, it must be infused with genuine emotions and unwavering persistence.
“The Bible says, the earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working],” Busahiri wrote in a statement.
“If you want your prayer life to be effective and dynamic in its working, you need to ensure that it carries two qualities- it must be heartfelt and it must be continuous,” he added.
Shepherd Bushiri went on to emphasize prayer as a continuous conversation with God, further challenging the idea that prayer should have a set time limit. He however exhorts people to develop a practice of continuous prayer and communion with God, independent of events or other influences.
“A man of effective prayer does not put a timetable to prayer. He prays without ceasing, uninterrupted by surroundings, unrelenting through circumstances; persistently and unremittingly seeking God’s face! He is always speaking to God round-the-clock, whether in good times or bad times,” he said.
Additionally, Bushiri draws inspiration from the biblical figure of Elijah, a prophet known for his unwavering faith and persistent prayers. He encourages individuals to emulate Elijah’s unwavering spirit. He charges them to pray until they “see something happen, and even when it does happen, keep on praying to sustain it.”
