Terri Savelle Foy Mourns Father’s Passing in a Heartfelt Post
Following the news of renowned author and televangelist Jerry Savelle’s passing, his daughter, Terri Savelle Foy, who is also a prominent author in her own right, took to social media to express her grief and share a heartfelt message.
In an emotional post, shared Tuesday on her Instagram page, she thanked supporters for their prayers, acknowledging their importance during this difficult time. “They are truly needed now more than ever,” she wrote. She went on to describe the immense pain of losing her “sweet daddy and favorite preacher.”
Finding solace in her faith, she quoted her father’s teachings on God’s grace. “I know God’s grace is ‘the power of God coming on us to do with ease what we could never do on our own’,” she stated. “I’m calling on that grace to help my family and me right now, especially my sweet mama, who has loved my daddy since she was 9 years old.”
The post offered a glimpse into Savelle’s final moments. She revealed that he had preached “with all his heart Sunday night in California” and tragically passed away unexpectedly the following morning. “Woke up Monday morning preparing to go home, but instead he went to his heavenly home,” she wrote with a broken heart emoji.
The author’s daughter also shared details about her father’s faith journey. “Daddy gave his heart to Jesus on 2/11 (February 11, 1969), and 55 years later, left to be with Jesus from room 211,” she poignantly wrote, highlighting the symmetry of the dates and room number.
Terri concluded the message with a plea for continued prayers, stating, “Please pray for us. We need your prayers.” She then vowed to honor her father’s legacy, writing, “Daddy, you ingrained in me that the Savelles are not quitters! I will honor your legacy and carry on this precious heritage of faith.” The post concluded with expressions of love and loss, “I miss you more than I can say.”
