 Renowned Author and Televangelist Jerry Savelle Dies at 76
Jerry Savelle, a prominent American author, televangelist, and the president of Jerry Savelle Ministries International (JSMI), passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 76.
Jerry Savelle Ministries announced the news on their official Instagram page. “It is with both profound sorrow and divine peace that we announce Dr. Jerry Savelle, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pastor, mentor, and resolute friend, has stepped into his eternal reward this day, Monday, April 15, 2024,” the announcement read.
Savelle was known for his inspirational writings and passionate preaching that emphasized faith and grace. JSMI described him as having “lived a life marked by an adventure in faith.”
The JSMI announcement acknowledged the grief felt by those who knew Savelle but also emphasized the hope found in Christ’s promise of eternal life. “While our hearts miss his physical presence, we are comforted by the Holy Spirit and filled with a joy that transcends earthly understanding,” the statement read. “We do not mourn as those without hope, for we know that in Christ, we shall see Brother Jerry again.”
Savelle was a prominent figure in the Christian community, known for his inspirational writings and powerful sermons. He led JSMI, a ministry with its headquarters in the United States. It has offices in Tanzania, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. Throughout his career, Savelle authored over 70 books and preached in more than 3,000 churches across 26 nations.
Savelle is survived by his wife Carolyn Savelle and his two daughters, Terri Savelle Foy and Jerriann Newton. JSMI indicated that details regarding a celebration of life service would be announced in the coming week.
