Renowned author Touré Roberts and his wife, Sarah Jakes Roberts, have taken to social media to celebrate their 10th first date anniversary.
Toure expressed his love and gratitude for his wife in a heartwarming message about their journey together. “Took my girlfriend out last night to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our first date,” he wrote. “That’s where it all began,” he noted, further, admitting that their love was “God-made.”
He continued, “We invested in what we sensed and reaped a harvest of love, life, and Kingdom impact.”

Sarah Jakes Roberts added a playful twist to the celebration by revealing the elaborate surprise her husband had planned. “It wasn’t just a date. It was a whole thing,” she wrote in the comments section.
“You weren’t supposed to come home until Monday. Told me you needed me to hop on a call Sunday evening to finish negotiating one of our deals (you knew telling me this would ensure I didn’t look crazy after my Sunday nap).”
She continued, “Had me headed to the office to find you standing in the hall with a babysitter. Ten years after our first date and you still make me feel like I have wings that only you can see.”

Sarah Jakes Roberts and her husband, Touré Roberts, have been married since November 2014. Both previously went through failed marriages before finding love with each other. The couple are assistant pastors at The Potter’s House, a church founded by Sarah’s father, Bishop T.D. Jakes. They have one child together, and several other children from their previous marriages.
